Why STRETCH is monthly?

I am a believer of the Pareto principle – 80/20 – but not just because sometimes less is more but in general I am a believer of applying logic in our daily lives. One of my favorite saying is “Common sense is not that common” and how true is that, think about it. Of course the devil lies in the detail, as usual, what one thing means for me, may not mean the exact same thing for someone else.

I have been asked, since my posts – and again, thanks for all of those who are asking me questions, as this helps me as well to see, what is straight forward to me may not be so straight forward to others, where I need to add a little bit more context 😉 so I have been asked: “Why is it a monthly program? Is this really fitting our high-speed reality?” Well, in my view, in fact the speed of our lives is the reason why S T R E T C H is in fact a monthly program. I am a believer of change and transformation but I am also aware that things do not happen overnight. Especially not change, change of habits, personality traits. Psychology suggest it takes 21 days to build a new habit and another 90 days to make it really imprinted in your life, to make sure you follow it through effortlessly. Managing time, our energy, next to all of our engagements with our families, friends, work - it is hard, but nevertheless we should make it to be one of our priorities. Often our own self-development falls short of time and effort as simply there’s no more time left in a day after dedicating time to all of our other priorities. With a monthly program it is not another daily five minutes to your already busy day but another few minutes at least during 21 days out of the average 30 days of a months. The elements of S T R E T C H are building on each other, like R for Resilience can easily be combined with S for Sport or T for Technology to make sure you continue to build a new habit with 21/90 rule effortlessly making it imprinted in your life going forward in a self-compassionate way empowering your own growth.

Stay tuned for next chapter in the S T R E T C H method - coming soon!
